Do I need a harness for all MEWPs (Mobile Elevated Work Platforms)?

Do I need a harness for all AWPs (Aerial Work Platforms)?

Why hire access platform equipment?
Providing a safe, convenient and cost-effective means of working at height, our powered platforms deliver the ideal solution as the replacement for more traditional methods of access. Do I need an account to hire access platforms?
Yes, all hires require an account; however, accounts are free, quick and easy to open. Please contact your local depot to find out more.

Do you provide transport, and is this included in the hire rate?

Safety FAQs

What kind of safety training do you provide?
We offer a complete range of working at height training, including IPAF Operator, Demonstrator and Instructor courses as well as IPAF MEWPs (AWPs) for Managers. Additionally, Rapid Access is the only company which offers Virtual Reality testing and familiarisation across the whole of the GCC, with our award-winning AWP VR Simulator.

Do you offer other work at height and safety training?
Yes, as well as our comprehensive range of AWP training, we can offer PASMA and forklift driving, Highfield-accredited manual handling courses and complete workplace training.
Rapid Access can also organise a range of onsite Tool Box Talks and demonstrations to support your Health and Safety focus days and on-site initiatives.

Where do you carry out your training?
We can offer our complete training package from any of our depots, or alternatively we can arrange for our trained instructors to come to your project site or office to carry out training on your premises.

Do I have to open an account to pay for training?
Contact your local depot for more information, but in most cases it is possible to pay for training in advance using a debit or credit card without the need to open an account.

Do I need training to use an AWP (Aerial Work Platform)?
Most GGC governments and municipalities now mandate training for all operators of AWP (Manlift or Scissor Lift) equipment, as well as many regional project sites demanding that all operators are certified to operate plant equipment.

Rapid Access recommends the internationally recognised IPAF courses which cover several levels of training for the safe operation of AWPs.

For information regarding safety training please call your local depot or find more details on many of our courses.
