Work Place

Ensuring the safety, effeciency and improvement of our workplace.

Ensuring the safety, efficiency and improvement of our workplace

Looking after our employees is the most important duty for us. It is our ambition to be recognised as an employer of choice, whether we are ensuring the health and safety of our employees while they at work, or whether we are developing their potential and furthering their career.

Every year since 2009 we have been awarded with the RoSPA Gold accreditation as a sign of our commitment to the very highest standards of health and safety.

In 2008 our parent company launched the Lavendon Academy, the internal training body for our business. As well as offering a comprehensive range of training courses to our customers, the Lavendon Academy helps to develop the careers of our employees. Covering a range of different topics, from customer service or product knowledge, to the latest health and safety guidance or wellbeing advice, the internal training is delivered through seminars, group sessions or internet based e-Learning to develop our employees skills and improve our ongoing service to customers.

We also offer a Management Trainee Scheme for employees to gain new skills preparing them for a job in management, as well as the Management Development Scheme to develop their managerial skills thereafter.

As a national company, we cover a wide range of communities, some of which are more heavily affected by low education and low employment than others. Across all of our areas of operation we offer apprenticeships for a wide variety of roles, training up new employees for their chosen role in our company. At the end of the training, apprentices will have received underpinning knowledge as a sound foundation to achieving the relevant NVQ qualifications in their chosen field.

Our dedication to developing our work place has also seen the implementation of a series of programmes and initiatives to support the efficiency and sustainability of our operations, from Technical Excellence (TechX) and Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM), to our Nationwide Platforms Green Award, all of which you can read more about on this website.

In 2011 we launched a pioneering Corporate Responsibility programme that outlines our aims for the next decade.
