IPAF CEO speaks at Genie dealer summit

Gurpartap Singh, employee of Rapid Access, wins the 2011 IAPA trophy for IPAF Training Instructor of the Year.

IPAF CEO Tim Whiteman spoke at the Terex/Genie Middle East & South Africa Dealer Summit held at the end of February in Dubai, United Arab Emirates.

Tim Whiteman spoke on safety generally as well as safety issues related to the use of powered access equipment, and on the work of IPAF.

“I was delighted to be invited and to learn about new markets in the region from those present,” said Whiteman.

While in Dubai, IPAF’s CEO took the opportunity to conduct a fact-finding tour – visiting members in the region, visiting construction sites, and assessing how IPAF can further contribute to the safe use of powered access.

At Rapid Access, IPAF-certified instructor Gurpartap Singh was pleasantly surprised to have IPAF CEO Tim Whiteman drop in on a course that he was conducting. Gurpartap Singh was the winner of the 2011 IAPA trophy for IPAF Training Instructor of the Year.

Whiteman also visited IPAF-approved training centre Al Laith Scaffolding, where a course was being conducted. The trainees that day were Jemma Joy Brown, Binil Kumar and Sayooj K.V., and the instructor was Lino Casili.

“There is growing interest in the IPAF training programme and IPAF member services in the region,” noted Whiteman.
